The Crickets Members 1957-2023

Prior to The Crickets officially forming when "That'll Be The Day" was released in 1957, Buddy Holly performed, wrote and recorded with other local musicians. starting off with his young pal Jack Neal, then with Bob Montgomery (with Don Guess/Larry Welborn) and Sonny Curtis (who would later become long time Cricket member after Buddy and drummer Jerry JI Allison & bass player Joe B Mauldin split in autumn 1958).  Since The Crickets inception in early 1957, there have been other members who joined the band, especially after Buddy Holly died in Feb 1959, some of them only played on sessions and some of them only on tours/live performances.

 

Here are all the members of The Crickets (some technically were only session players Glen Campbell, Rick Grech, Keith Allison)  since 1957 up until 2023. Sonny Curtis was the last remaining long term Cricket. He passed away in Sept 2025.
